Perfect Valentine’s Fudge

February 13, 2012 by Melissa

There are some recipes that I see on tv that I have to try immediately and this was one of those recipes. And it delivered. Warm, salty-sweet, smells divine, so super easy to make, and perfect for sharing. So in time for Valentine’s Day, here’s Giada de Laurentis’ recipe for Spicy Fudge:

Spicy Cinnamon Fudge

-2.5 cups bittersweet chocolate chips (although I used a mix of semisweet and bittersweet and it turned out fine)

-one can sweetened condensed milk

-3 Tbsp. unsalted butter, room temp, cut into small chunks

-2 tsp. cinnamon

-1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients together in bowl of double boiler. Stir over simmering water until smooth, 6-8 minutes. Pour into 8×8 inch pan that has been buttered and has an overhanging piece of parchment (for ease of getting the fudge out of the pan and into your mouth).

Smooth the fudge with the back of the spatula, sprinkle kosher salt over the top, and put in the fridge for 2.5 hours, until set. It’s a lovely treat and my daughter Lucy can’t get enough of it. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
